    A Conversation with Professor John Sanchez JOHN SANCHEZ (Nde [Apache]/Yaqui) is an Emeritus Professor of Journalism at Penn State. His research endeavors are at the intersection of Indigenous cultures and the American news media.

    On Old Main Patio FREE Indigenous student, faculty, and staff leaders will speak, and artists will perform in honor of Indigenous Peoples' Resistance. The Jake George Family will perform a smoke dance to welcome guests. Supaman will perform at approximately 1 p.m. Presented by the Center for the Performing Arts in collaboration with Penn State Indigenous Faculty and Staff Alliance, Indigenous Peoples’ Student Association, and Student Affairs.

    Zoom link coming soon. Rev. Tracy Sprowls and other ministers will  host an hour for UUs in PA to drop by and share their feelings about the election. We will recap events and hold space for the challenges of these times.

    With new Artistic Director, Eric Clayton. Featuring members of the Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra and Madeleine Christopher, mezzo soprano. Concert pieces include: Singet Dem Herrn by Johann Pachelbel, Fern Hill by John Corigliano, Five Hebrew Love Songs by Eric Whitacre, Dixit Dominus by Frideric Handel, The Ground by Ola Gjeilo, and a commissioned work - Be Still My Soul, by Sheridan Seyfried.

    Our annual free Christmas with the Choral Society concert will feature one of the masterpieces of the season, John Rutter's Gloria. In three movements, the outer fast movements have the energetic exuberance of a John Williams movie score, while the slow inner movement evokes the wonder and mystery of a star-filled night. This concert will feature performances by local school choirs, as well as an audience sing-along of familiar seasonal favorites.
