Welcome to the World Blessings Room! An important tenet of Unitarian Universalism is an appreciation of our world and its many blessings. World Blessings introduces our older elementary friends to our world’s diverse countries, religions, and holidays through the shared activity of cooking! Cooking is a wonderful way to engage in cultural appreciation and education without appropriation. We’ll engage with information about the culture from which the recipes originate, as well as the country, religion, holiday, or holy day being studied.

We may also read a story that gives us an appreciation of the people we are focusing on. In addition, we will learn blessings which are authentically used from the culture in which the recipe originates as an aid to learning. We will then create our own blessing and say it together before sharing the dishes we have prepared.
