Community Event: Redistricting and Representation
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Centre County 780 Waupelani Drive, State College, PA, United StatesJoin Fair Districts PA, Central Pennsylvania United and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Centre County for: A pot luck dinner A short presentation on fair redistricting with Fair Districts PA Chair Carol Kuniholm Time for networking across organizations. Bring some food and some information to share! Feel free to bring a friend. Representatives from other organizations are welcome to promote, attend, bring information to share, and make announcements as part of our networking time. Democracy works best when we all are heard. This is a collaborative event.

Community Event: IHS Board Meeting
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Centre County 780 Waupelani Drive, State College, PA, United StatesThe meeting will begin with an ice cream social so that the 30 people, or so from the 28 congregations can socialize, at 6 pm. If any of you are interested in learning about or serving on this very interesting and vital board, certainly come to this party to meet everyone. The meeting will begin at 7 pm, usually for an hour, and Rev. Tracy will be doing the opening. UUFCC Member Sue Smith has been representing UUFCC at IHS for about 40 years, and is looking for someone to take over representation. Contact Sue Smith for more information.

Community Event – A Call for Humane Conditions At Centre County Jail
Centre County Correction Facility 700 Rishel Hill Rd, Bellefonte, PA, United StatesToday, Centre County’s incarcerated citizens cannot see the sky, experience sunlight, encounter nature, or witness the changing seasons unless they are on work release. Join a coalition of individuals and community groups who have been working on this issue for over two years. Location: Centre County Correction Facility - Community Room, 700 Rishel Hill Road (just off the I-99 Bellefonte exit)

Community Event – “The Global Effect of Climate Change on Human Health”

Dr. Brian King is Professor and Head of the Department of Geography at Penn State. His research, teaching, and outreach focus on livelihoods, conservation and development, environmental change, and human health. He holds affiliations across the university, including with the Population Research Institute, the Earth and Environmental Systems Institute, the School of International Affairs, and the Consortium to Combat Substance Abuse. Dr. King is also an honorary research associate with the African Climate and Development Initiative at the University of Cape Town and was selected as a National Academy of Sciences [...]

Community Event – Foxdale Multicultural Film Festival: Killers of the Flower Moon (2023)
Foxdale Auditorium 500 E Marylyn Ave, State College, United StatesSet in 1920s Oklahoma, this film tells the true story of a corrupt political boss who orchestrates the murders of oil-rich Osage Nation members, manipulating his nephew into betraying his Osage wife until the Bureau of Investigation uncovers the conspiracy. It is a haunting tale of greed, betrayal, and injustice. (3 hrs. 26 min., R) This film will be shown in two parts: Part One on Thursday, October 2, and Part Two on Friday, October 3. The Multicultural Film Festival is free and open to the public.
