Community Event – “When Facts Meet Fiction – Communication Strategies for Countering Climate Misinformation & Disinformation”
Located at the Foxdale Village Auditorium With guest speaker Janet Swim: Every day, we encounter claims about climate change through news stories, social media, and conversations with others. While some information is accurate, other claims can be misleading or intentionally deceptive. In this engaging presentation, Dr. Janet K. Swim, Professor of Psychology and Associate Director of the Penn State Climate Consortium, will explore why some common approaches to correcting climate misinformation are often ineffective.
