Community Event – Juneteenth 2025: Block Party Celebration
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza 100 Block of South Fraser Street, State College, PA, United StatesMore event information coming soon. Juneteenth is a celebration to commemorate the day federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, to ensure the freedom of all enslaved people. In June of 2021, President Joe Biden signed a bill to recognize Juneteenth as a federal holiday. Join us in honoring and remembering this important day in American history when the last group of enslaved African Americans were notified of their freedom. This year marks the sixth year anniversary that Juneteenth will be celebrated in the Borough of State College.
