We are thrilled to share that we have a brand new solar electricity system (SES) at the Fellowship! This project is a big step toward living our Unitarian Universalist values of sustainability, stewardship, and care for the Earth.
We are deeply grateful for the generous support that made our solar project possible. The Hammond Climate Solutions Solar Moonshot Program awarded us a $25,000 grant (learn more), and the West Penn Energy Fund contributed a $20,000 grant (learn more). Their commitment to renewable energy and environmental stewardship has helped UUFCC take this important step toward a greener, more sustainable future.
Our design partner was Envinity, a local firm with many successful solar and energy-efficient building projects. They worked closely with us for two years as we first did an energy audit and applied measures to reduce our electricity usage. Envinity also did the installation and supported our applications for grants.

SES Schematic
This diagram shows the major components of the SES:
- 52 Solar modules (Qcell Q.PEAK DUO XL-G10 SERIES, 485 Wp)
- 3 SMA Sunny Boy™ (SBSE7.7-US-50)
- Circuit Breakers: Each inverter has a circuit breaker
- Disconnect: Connects the SES output to the utility
