All of your animal friends are welcome to come to this special service honoring them. All animals should be on a leash or in a cage for everyone’s safety. If you have an animal that has passed away, bring a picture of them and we will take time to honor our lost friends and companions. Children are welcome to bring a special stuffed animal to be blessed too. Animal blessings originate out of the Catholic tradition; however, many Unitarian Universalists congregations have adopted this practice and made it a uniquely UU type of blessing. Our seventh principle which states that we are all a part of an interconnected web of existence is the underlying motivation for many of these services.
