Where Our Gifts Go

The Ongoing Operation of the Fellowship: Annually Budgeted Expenses

Most of the funds we raise go to the ongoing expenses of UUFCC’s operations. With several full-time and part-time staff, a sizable building and grounds, and widely varied activities, the expenses are considerable. We have to raise these funds ourselves; there is no one else to do it for us.

Supporting our community

1st Sunday Plate Collection

On the First Sunday of every month, the offering given at the Sunday Service goes to a non-profit organization that does important work to benefit others. These organizations are chosen by congregational vote twice a year. Some serve the local community, and some are national or international.

Minister's Discretionary Fund

Some gifts from members and friends to UUFCC are for The Minister’s Discretionary Fund, which enables our minister to help people in and out of the congregation with special or urgent needs.

The primary source of support for The Minister’s Discretionary Fund is a special collection at the Christmas Eve service. You may also give to this fund using one of the methods listed under General Donations to UUFCC by writing “Minister’s Discretionary Fund” (MDF) in the comments (online giving) or memo line (check).

A NOTE ABOUT SCAMS: Because we have The Minister’s Discretionary Fund, the minister will never ask you to send her money to help others. If you receive a text or email asking you to do that, it is not from her—it is a scam!

Security and opportunity in the future

Legacy gifts are forever gifts that ensure our Fellowship’s future. Funds from gifts are invested to grow and support our ability to complete projects outside of our annual budget and also allows funds should an emergency threaten the Fellowship. Legacy gifts to UUFCC have already supported valuable building projects, maintenance necessities, safety initiatives and more. Read more about Legacy Giving.
