The Centre County Interfaith Coalition for Gun Safety is an alliance of local religious leaders and community members committed to building a peaceful society free from preventable gun violence. Through our work, we educate on issues related to gun violence, advocate for responsible and safe gun ownership, and unite with local, state, and federal officials on matters of gun safety that benefit the whole community.

Does radical hospitality encourage and support belonging or can it still leave some out? On October 20, we will celebrate our animal companions with our annual animal blessing. For this service, people are welcome to bring well-behaved animals either leashed or secured in a carrier. We also encourage pictures of animals (alive or deceased) and stuffed lovies too. If you are uncomfortable with animals, please join us on zoom!

OWL is a comprehensive sexuality education program that is a signature curriculum of the UUA and the United Church of Christ. It is a life-saving program that helps kids explore their values around their bodies, relationships, health, and justice and equity. Our high school youth lean into leadership as they determine their own journey through the year. They choose what topics of discussion, fun, and social justice work they engage in with caring adult mentors along the way. Join us this Sunday at 1 pm for a facilitated discussion on "Free Will". Dr. Joshua Wretzel from PSU philosophy department and a member at Congregation Brit Shalom will lead our youth in an open discussion on the topic of "free will". All view points are welcome!

The participants of the UUFCC Resilience and Acceptance in the Face of Collapse course (which met from October 2023-February 2024) would like to invite UUFCC members and others to participate in the UUFCC Resilience and Acceptance Discussion Group. Learn how to be an anti-racism, anti-oppression facilitator This fall the UUFCC will support the training of a handful of its members in anti-racism facilitation in preparation for offering the UUA’s Mosaic Lifespan Anti-Racism Curriculum at the UUFCC next spring. The training is offered by the UU Institute and the Racial Justice Committee will be hosting a discussion session on Sunday, October 27 for all who are signed up.
