Join us for a hike up Mt. Nittany to the Mike Lynch Overlook and we'll share a story about Princess Nittany! Meet at Mt Nittany Trailhead in Lemont.
Join us in teaming up with Interfaith Power and Light to watch this insightful film followed by a conversation with the director (who will join via Zoom). The film explores our economic, historical and emotional entanglement with oil by looking at the conflicting imperatives around North Sea oil and considers how this machine can be tamed, dismantled, or repurposed.
Our paid childcare staff have full background clearances and certificates in First Aid and Infant CPR. They are enthusiastic and compassionate and love interacting with our youngest friends! Ages 6 mo. to 4 years old (non-potty trained)
A service of gratitude for where you have been, who you are now, and where you might be headed. This service will end at 10:45 for the chili cook-off and the mid-year meeting.
Join our Middle School Youth program! This year our Middle School youth will engage in a social justice and anti-racism program exploring various topics and working to take action. Part of the year will be spent in a discussion group on the book, Stamped from the Beginning by Ibram X. Kendi. Films and other activities will enhance learning.
Each week our Pre-K and Kindergarten friends will explore their world in light of our UU values with our wonderful teachers! Pre-K and Kindergarten will meet downstairs in Room D at 10 am with Sue and Rocky. Please sign in and sign out downstairs in Room D. This Sunday we will explore how we can help! Family Chapel (for 1st-5th grade kids ~ Parents are Welcome!) Please sign your kids in downstairs in the Gathering Space for Family Chapel. Parents are invited to stay! We will focus on Indigenous People and the Doctrine Discovery!
Please sign-up to share your chili recipes and to help us make this year the best Chili Cookoff Year EVER!! Please bring your Crockpots full of delicious Meat or Vegetarian Chili to be plugged in and ready to feed lots of hungry UUs after the service and before the Midyear Meeting on November 5th. Please also sign up to help with set up and clean up, and to bring sides. The Chili Winners will be announced at the Mid-Year Meeting, and there will be prizes for the Best Vegetarian and the Best Meat Chilis.

The 3-hour session of UU101 is required of newcomers desiring membership. If space is available, it is also open to any current members/friends who wish to retrace their spiritual journey to the UUFCC, to learn about the Fellowship, and to explore the benefits and responsibilities of membership.

Join Colleen and Ashley as we journey across the history of African Americans' struggle for freedom and equality through music in this special offering for Parents/Caregivers, kids, and all ages during RE Hour! We will explore the history of the songs as well as learn to sing them in preparation for our MLK service in January. Kindergarten through Middle School youth are invited to participate!
Dr. Jason Whitney will be presenting on Opioids, Addiction and Recovery. His session will examine the opioid overdose epidemic as part of a larger substance use disorder epidemic. He will describe the current status of opioid addiction, review the status of addiction as a chronic disease, and discuss various systems of treatment and recovery pathways. Dr. Whitney is an Associate Teaching Professor in the College of Education and Program Director of the Penn State Collegiate Recovery Community, a program of Student Affairs that supports students in recovery from addictions that he helped found in 2011. On Sunday November 12 at 2:00 pm, Congregation Brit Shalom will be holding a memorial service/panel discussion to commemorate the 85th year since Kristallnacht and the 5th year since the Tree of Life tragedy. The panel discussion will focus on the current state of antisemitism in the United States. Rabbi David Ostrich will speak about the challenges facing congregations in the face of anti-Semitic sentiment. Rabbi Rob Gleisser will address antisemitism on college campuses; and Emma Baer-Simon will discuss antisemitism on social media.
