Middle School RE – Stamped from the Beginning Part II

Kendi. This will be our second viewing and discussion on this topic. This week's topic will center on: Abolitionist Myth of the White Savior Janet Irons from the Racial Justice Committee will speak on the committee's work within UUFCC and State College and will help facilitate discussion after the film viewing.

Resilience and Acceptance in the Face of Collapse

Microaggressions Workshop

Last October, we invited Dr. Seria Chatters to give our Board, Racial Justice Committee, and RE teachers a workshop on microaggressions which was deeply insightful and spurred much discussion. Rev. Tracy and Ashley Hamlin are expanding this training and discussion to anyone in our UUFCC congregation with a second workshop based on Seria's material. Canceled Valentine Party for Afghan Families

To better involve the children, there will be a Valentine Tree set up in the UU Foyer with a heart for each child, with the child''s name, age, and gift suggestion under $20. Cathi Alloway (Retired, Schlow Library Director) will share the intellectual freedom challenges she faced during her library career, including controversies about violent and sexual materials, hate group meetings, and Drag Queen Story Hours. You won't want to miss this educational and enlightening journey through their experiences with censorship.
