Sunday Service – “Mary White Ovington: The Founding of the NAACP”
with Rev. Rosemarie Newberry. Music: UUFCC Choir. Rev. Rosemarie Newberry (Xe/xe, pronounced "zhee") is a retired UU minister that lives in New Jersey. Xe has served congregations in Ohio, New Jersey, and New York. Xe also worked as a hospice chaplain and a chaplain for adults with developmental disabilities. From Rev. Tracy: We have two themes this month, women’s history month and paying attention. So as we explore these themes in the Sunday services, I invite you to follow Mary Oliver’s instructions in your daily life: Pay attention. Be astonished.Tell about it. Every second Sunday in the hallway outside Fellowship Hall, the Justice Committee hosts an action table dedicated to offering you practical opportunities for advocacy and social justice engagement. We connect you with tools such as the 5Calls app and provide postcard-writing materials to help make your voice heard, alongside curated recommendations for social justice books available in our library. We invite you to stop by after the service to connect with committee members and find meaningful ways to support our shared mission of building a more just and inclusive world.
