Get ready for Juneteenth Weekend 2024!

Juneteenth is a celebration to commemorate the day federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, to ensure the freedom of all enslaved people. In June of 2021, Juneteenth was recognized as a federal holiday.

Juneteenth Weekend is founded by the State College NAACP in partnership with the Borough of State College, the Center for the Center for the Performing Arts at Penn State, and The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau.
