Join our Middle School Youth program! This year our Middle School youth will engage in a social justice and anti-racism program exploring various topics and working to take action. Part of the year will be spent in a discussion group on the book, Stamped from the Beginning by Ibram X. Kendi. Films and other activities will enhance learning.

Meet at UUFCC to then caravan to a tree farm to pick out a tree for our Fellowship (and for your family!). Then we'll light it and decorate it in the sanctuary! Followed by a potluck, hot beverages, holiday treats, and a movie (Jingle, Jangle: A Christmas Story) All ages welcome! (Please bring a dish to share!). Sign up HERE!
This Sunday, we will begin the documentary, Stamped from the Beginning, and explore: Introduction to Blackness (content warming: within this section are clips where the N-word is used as well as some swearing like "fuck") Myth of Assimilation Discussion will follow with Laurie Parmele and Laura Liermann
All kids (Pre-K through Middle School) are invited to join in craft making and art. Parents are welcome to drop off and pick up by noon. Please sign up here by Saturday, December 23.

This will be our first of three viewings and discussion on this topic of anti-racism. This week's topic will center on: Introduction to Blackness Myth of Assimilation Laura Liermann from the Racial Justice Committee will help facilitate discussion after the film viewing.

Middle School youth are invited for a monthly hangout to begin Nov 23! The youth will meet downstairs at the UU in the Gathering Space from 5-7 pm and play games, eat pizza, and just have fun.
