Our democracy is in peril. Timothy Snyder, the acclaimed historian and author of books like On Tyranny, tells us that one of the primary things the average person can do to keep a democracy strong is commit to an institution. Right when we find ourselves in the midst of a political crisis, membership in congregations and other organizations is dramatically down. Let’s talk!
Each week our Pre-K and Kindergarten friends will explore their world in light of our UU values with our wonderful teachers! Pre-K and Kindergarten will meet downstairs in Room D at 10 am with Sue and Rocky. Please sign in and sign out downstairs in Room D. 1st through 5th grade kids will start in the sanctuary and leave after the Wisdom Lesson. Sign in at the welcome table before the service and sign out downstairs by 11:15 am!
Join our Middle School Youth program! This year our Middle School youth will engage in a social justice and anti-racism program exploring various topics and working to take action. Part of the year will be spent in a discussion group on the book, Stamped from the Beginning by Ibram X. Kendi. Films and other activities will enhance learning.
This year’s Berry Street address, My Little Pony Was Right: Reflections of Fascisms Without and Within, was delivered by Reverend Cecilia Kingman. Join Rev. Tracy in reading and discussing this paper.
Join Colleen and Ashley as we journey across the history of African Americans' struggle for freedom and equality through music in this special offering for Parents/Caregivers, kids, and all ages during RE Hour!
