    The Foxdale Climate Care Committee presents this event. Come learn about the fundamentals of Earth's changing climate, including the evidence for warming, the contributions of humans, the impacts on ecosystems and society, and how our actions now will determine the severity of the threat to our future generations. Dr. Najjar is Professor of Oceanography in the PSU Department of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science with a joint appointment in the Department of Geosciences. This is a Community Event, so come early to get a seat. This will be facilitated by Martha Butler, G-111.

The speaker is Dr. Raymond Najjar Professor of Oceanography in the Department of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science, with a joint appointment in the Department of Geosciences. Come to learn the fundamentals of Earth’s changing climate, including the evidence for warming, the contributions of humans, the impacts on society and the natural world, and how our actions now will determine the severity of the threat for future generations. A self-proclaimed "Jack of all trades", Jackie's work has centered around her passions for books, the natural world, and physical well-being. Her experience spans roles in sustainable agriculture, forestry, solar design, and education, as well as serving in various community-based environmental and wellness initiatives.   • Community Event – Foxdale Multicultural Film Festival: Killers of the Flower Moon (2023)

    Set in 1920s Oklahoma, this film tells the true story of a corrupt political boss who orchestrates the murders of oil-rich Osage Nation members, manipulating his nephew into betraying his Osage wife until the Bureau of Investigation uncovers the conspiracy. It is a haunting tale of greed, betrayal, and injustice. (3 hrs. 26 min., R) This film will be shown in two parts: Part One on Thursday, October 2, and Part Two on Friday, October 3.
