Family Chapel – Black History Month

Parents with elementary-aged kids are invited to join our Family Chapel each month! This is an interactive mini "service" which Ashley leads on our monthly congregational theme with a social justice focus. Come and learn and worship together in a fun, kid-friendly space.

Middle School RE – Stamped from the Beginning Part II

Join our Middle School class to watch the Netflix documentary, Stamped from the Beginning, based on the book by Ibram X. Kendi. This will be our second viewing and discussion on this topic. This week's topic will center on: Abolitionist Myth of the White Savior Janet Irons from the Racial Justice Committee will speak on the committee's work within UUFCC and State College and will help facilitate discussion after the film viewing.

The UUFCC Jazz Band is open to all. Rehearsals occur on Sundays in the Sanctuary, although occasionally the band may rehearse in Room 6 due to major church events. Contact David Morris if interested.

Resilience and Acceptance in the Face of Collapse

This course, which takes a sobering introduction to societal collapse, then guides you through a supportive pathway to greater resilience and acceptance in the face of collapse, will meet through February 4 with leaders Kelle Kersten and Bob Flatley.

Microaggressions Workshop

What does it mean to commit a "Microaggression"? Last October, we invited Dr. Seria Chatters to give our Board, Racial Justice Committee, and RE teachers a workshop on microaggressions which was deeply insightful and spurred much discussion. Rev. Tracy and Ashley Hamlin are expanding this training and discussion to anyone in our UUFCC congregation with a second workshop based on Seria's material. After this workshop, we will invite Dr. Chatters to come again and follow up on this work. Our goal is to continue deepening our inclusive and welcoming culture at UUFCC.
