Come learn about the fundamentals of Earth's changing climate, including the evidence for warming, the contributions of humans, the impacts on ecosystems and society, and how our actions now will determine the severity of the threat to our future generations. Dr. Najjar is Professor of Oceanography in the PSU Department of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science with a joint appointment in the Department of Geosciences. Our goal is to maintain and enhance the UUFCC's green sanctuary certification by promoting ecojustice and the environmental practices that make ecojustice possible. We do this through projects at the UUFCC and in the broader community, focusing on renewable energy, and promoting the use of sustainable food, green transportation, and clean water.

For this event, Cathy will be joined by several friends and family members. They are Cecilia Blackwell, flute, Brent Register, guitar; Gabriel Herrera, trombone; Jacob Herrera, trumpet and ukelele, and Jim Latten, percussion. Cathy will be playing five different flutes during this program, which will include Baroque music featuring traverso flute and music by the Argentinian composer Astor Pizzolla and the Brazilian composer Pixinguinha. In addition, she will premiere some of her original works and compositions by Brent Register that highlight the alto flute and piccolo. The UUFCC Song Circle offers a fun, monthly opportunity to make music together with voices, guitars, banjos, ukuleles, drums, kazoos, etc. Anyone from the Fellowship or local community can join us to play, sing, or listen. We go around the circle with each person choosing the next song, either from our song-books or a song they brought to share. Contact Pam Short for more information.

...with Rev. Tracy Sprowls. Mother's Day was originally a proclamation against war and for mothers around the world to claim peace as a moral right for all people. We will honor and celebrate all those who mother today and revisit the original intention of the day.
We will start in the sanctuary for the Wisdom Lesson - sign-in at the Welcome Table. This Sunday we will create art expressing what makes a family and all the different ways to be a family.
