...with Elaine Jurs and Cathi Alloway. In this season of gift-giving, we pause to consider gifts from the heart, unexpected gifts, gifts given in love, and the nature of giving gifts. What memorable gifts have you received in your life? We will welcome a guest violist, John Roxburgh, and Martha Jordan will be hymn accompanist. Members of the Choir will assist in leading the hymn singing, which includes “Tis a Gift To Be Simple,” and “Life is the Greatest Gift of All.”

Our service on Sunday is a worship service and a meal woven together to tap into the heart of what it means to be in embodied spiritual community with one another. Through the centuries, people have gathered to worship while eating meals together. Harvest rituals celebrate food and promise. Passover Seders recognize freedom and redemption. And Christian communion stemmed from the practice of sharing meals to connect people to love and grace. We are companions on this challenging journey through life. Ten Thousand Villages is planning a three-day holiday sale at the Unitarian Fellowship on November 21, 22, and 23. Since the store has closed, this will be an opportunity for the local community to support international fair-trade and shop for the holidays. ...with Rev. Kristina Spaude.  Together this morning we will reflect on growing in community through the lens of time and imagination. --- The Rev. Kristina Spaude (she/her) currently serves as the contract minister for the recently yoked congregations of Tri-County UUs (Summerfield) and the UU Congregation of Lake County (Eustis). Her six-word story of faith is, "We're here to build Love's house," and she is passionate about making the way for more justice in this world. Rev. Kristina has two cats and loves cross stitching.

UUFCC Music Series: Dixon Costa Duo with pianist Ann Deighton

The Dixon-Costa Duo will open our UUFCC Music Series with a program of music for woodwinds and piano at 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 17.  Robyn Dixon Costa, oboe/English horn, is Instructor of Alexander Technique and Digital Learning in the Penn State School of Music.  Anthony Costa, clarinet/bass clarinet, is Associate Professor of Clarinet in the School of Music.  They will be joined by pianist Ann Deighton, who accompanies many Penn State and local musicians.  The Dixon-Costa Duo has performed together for over 30 years in the U.S. and Europe.  They promote music for oboe and clarinet, and they will include in [...]
