UUFCC Yard Sale

Volunteers play a key role in collecting, sorting, and displaying donations beforehand. During the sale, help with customer service, sales transactions, and packing up items. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people! We welcome volunteers of all ability.

Tasks include:

• Posting online and distributing posters around State College
• Collecting donations
• Preparing the Sanctuary/Fellowship Hall
• Setting up banners and signs
• Sorting, cleaning, and displaying items
• Directing traffic
• Assisting at the cashier
• Helping shoppers
• Providing storage for shoppers’ items
• Participating in cleanup

The UUFCC Yard Sale is organized by Cee Pollard. Planning begins months in advance, so contact Cee if you would like to get involved.

If possible, hold onto items until the 2nd week of August. After that you may bring them to the Fellowship or arrange for pickup. If you absolutely cannot store your items, contact Cee Pollard to discuss an available alternative.

We’ll take:
Books, furniture, jewelry, household supplies, office supplies, art, children’s, games, puzzles, art, tools, craft supplies, holiday, small appliances (in working condition), garden, pet supplies, etc.

We WON’T take:
Clothing, liquids (personal care, household detergent, paint, fuel etc.), mattresses, exercise equipment, large appliances, old televisions, pianos, children’s or sports equipment that does not meet current safety standards.

Larger Items – This year (2024) we will try selling larger items of furniture on Facebook Marketplace, so contact Cee Pollard about donating larger items.

If you are donating something special, please let us know early so we can post information about it ahead of time in order to sell it well.

Some unsold special items may be saved for the UUFCC Service Auction or sold online. Other unsold items will go to non-profits.
