Community Event – “Global Warming 101” with guest speaker Dr. Raymond Najjar

The Foxdale Climate Care Committee presents this event. Come learn about the fundamentals of Earth's changing climate, including the evidence for warming, the contributions of humans, the impacts on ecosystems and society, and how our actions now will determine the severity of the threat to our future generations. Dr. Najjar is Professor of Oceanography in the PSU Department of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science with a joint appointment in the Department of Geosciences. This is a Community Event, so come early to get a seat. This will be facilitated by Martha Butler, G-111.

We do this through projects at the UUFCC and in the broader community, focusing on renewable energy, and promoting the use of sustainable food, green transportation, and clean water.

UUFCC Music Series – “Flutist Cathy Herrera presents “Piazzolla, Pixinguinha and Premieres”

For this event, Cathy will be joined by several friends and family members. They are Cecilia Blackwell, flute, Brent Register, guitar; Gabriel Herrera, trombone; Jacob Herrera, trumpet and ukelele, and Jim Latten, percussion. Cathy will be playing five different flutes during this program, which will include Baroque music featuring traverso flute and music by the Argentinian composer Astor Pizzolla and the Brazilian composer Pixinguinha. In addition, she will premiere some of her original works and compositions by Brent Register that highlight the alto flute and piccolo. End Gun Violence Advocacy Day Last year, 500 Pennsylvanians descended on Harrisburg, demanding an end to gun violence. Soon after, the first bipartisan policies in years passed the PA House. The UUFCC Song Circle offers a fun, monthly opportunity to make music together with voices, guitars, banjos, ukuleles, drums, kazoos, etc. Anyone from the Fellowship or local community can join us to play, sing, or listen. Through our work, we educate on issues related to gun violence, advocate for responsible and safe gun ownership, and unite with local, state, and federal officials on matters of gun safety that benefit the whole community.
