Come to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Centre County on June 16 at 11:30 a.m. for a Subu Vedam Community Awareness program. Subramanyam (Subu) Vedam, a State College man, was wrongfully convicted of murder in 1982 and sentenced to life without parole, leading to decades of trauma for him and his family. Documents have recently surfaced showing that Subu could not have committed the crime, and that prosecutors concealed this evidence from his defense. On Monday July 22 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte, a judge will hear arguments as to whether a petition for a new trial can go forward. We are asking those available to attend this important hearing.
Come on the 16th to get your questions answered and learn the role the community can play to achieve accountability and justice in Centre County.
