Sunday Service – “Stillness Is Not Surrender”
with Rev. Tracy Sprowls. Resistance has a lot of looks- letter writing, conscientious spending, protests, and more, but can resting be a form of resistance? Let's explore this together.
RE: Pre-K & K
Each week our kids gather to explore our world in light of our UU values. Pre-K/K friends will engage in guided exploration of various topics with their wonderful teachers, Sue Smith and Rocky Landers, downstairs in Room D.
RE: 1st-5th Grade
1st through 5th grade kids are learning our values through the monthly congregational themes, and have a bi-monthly social justice book project and activity. In services led by Rev. Tracy Sprowls, children remain in the Sanctuary until the Wisdom Lesson, then go downstairs to class. In multigenerational services, they stay for the entire service.
RE: Middle School
Middle School youth engage in UU Identity through themes each month and fun activities using our Soul Matters curriculum. In services led by Rev. Tracy Sprowls, kids remain in the Sanctuary until the Wisdom Lesson, then go to class. In multigenerational services, they stay for the entire service.
It Matters What You Believe
This series explores the 5 smooth stones of Unitarian Universalism written by James Luther Adams as our starting point and container. The first session will be an introduction to this essay. The following five sessions cover: Diversity/community; Nihilism/compassion; Isolation/connection; Hope/despair; Empowerment/humility. Come to any one session or all. Dates are January 11, February 8, March 8, March 22, April 12, and May 3. Sign up here.
UUFCC Jazz Band Rehearsal
The UUFCC Jazz Band is open to all. Rehearsals occur on Sundays in the Sanctuary, although occasionally the band may rehearse in Room 6 due to major church events. Contact David Morris if interested.
