EJL’s mission is to establish a powerful social justice coalition that actively advocates for and promotes equity for marginalized populations. We are committed to addressing the unique challenges faced by communities of color, individuals who identify as women, LGBTQ+ individuals, promoting accessibility for people with disabilities, respecting and supporting individuals of all religions, and bridging the socioeconomic gap through equitable education.
The 3-hour session of UU101 is required of newcomers desiring membership. If space is available, it is also open to any current members/friends who wish to retrace their spiritual journey to the UUFCC, to learn about the Fellowship, and to explore the benefits and responsibilities of membership.
Parents' Night Out! Just drop your kids off to play and build fun connections with other friends and enjoy some time out for yourself! We will provide games, crafts, dinner, and a movie.

Join our Middle School Youth program! This year our Middle School youth will engage in a social justice and anti-racism program exploring various topics and working to take action. Part of the year will be spent in a discussion group on the book, Stamped from the Beginning by Ibram X. Kendi. Films and other activities will enhance learning.
Each week our Pre-K and Kindergarten friends will explore their world in light of our UU values with our wonderful teachers! Pre-K and Kindergarten will meet downstairs in Room D at 10 am with Sue and Rocky. Please sign in and sign out downstairs in Room D. We'll talk about how we say Thank You this week! 1st through 5th grade kids will start in the sanctuary and leave after the Wisdom Lesson. Sign in at the welcome table before the service and sign out downstairs by 11:15 am! We will continue our Anti-Racism exploration this week!
Join Colleen and Ashley as we journey across the history of African Americans' struggle for freedom and equality through music in this special offering for Parents/Caregivers, kids, and all ages during RE Hour! We will explore the history of the songs as well as learn to sing them in preparation for our MLK service in January. Kindergarten through Middle School youth are invited to participate!
Dr. Jason Whitney will be presenting on Opioids, Addiction and Recovery. His session will examine the opioid overdose epidemic as part of a larger substance use disorder epidemic. He will describe the current status of opioid addiction, review the status of addiction as a chronic disease, and discuss various systems of treatment and recovery pathways. Dr. Whitney is an Associate Teaching Professor in the College of Education and Program Director of the Penn State Collegiate Recovery Community, a program of Student Affairs that supports students in recovery from addictions that he helped found in 2011. On Sunday November 12 at 2:00 pm, Congregation Brit Shalom will be holding a memorial service/panel discussion to commemorate the 85th year since Kristallnacht and the 5th year since the Tree of Life tragedy. The panel discussion will focus on the current state of antisemitism in the United States. Rabbi David Ostrich will speak about the challenges facing congregations in the face of anti-Semitic sentiment. Rabbi Rob Gleisser will address antisemitism on college campuses; and Emma Baer-Simon will discuss antisemitism on social media.

On Saturday, November 18, 10am-2:30pm, UUFCC will host Breaking Barriers, Building Beliefs (B4) offered by the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) for congregations searching for a new minister. The B4 workshop is another opportunity for everyone in our congregation to participate in our search. This will be an interactive workshop with childcare, snacks and lunch provided. Join us for our annual Intergenerational Thanksgiving service - the re-telling of the Stone Soup story with our focus on embracing community, including those whom we don't yet know and those with whom we don't necessarily get along, from a sense of abundance, love, and deep kindness. Come to the UU Thanksgiving! Celebrate our Fellowship and join in community for a Potluck Thanksgiving. Sign up to join the potluck. Once the potluck is over, fill your containers with leftovers to take home and stay to help clean-up. Questions call Linda Eller 814-883-0392.
