Parents with elementary-aged kids are invited to join our Family Chapel each month! This is an interactive mini "service" which Ashley leads on our monthly congregational theme with a social justice focus. Come and learn and worship together in a fun, kid-friendly space.

with Rev. Tracy Sprowls... As we move forward together, shifting our ministry’s scope from one of transition to one of ongoing relationship, it seems a good time to look at shared ministry and the role of the minister.

I Can Pretend ~ There are many ways we can pretend! Join us as we explore this fun topic. This week our Pre-K/K friends will begin in Room D downstairs. Sign-in will be in Room D.

Join our Middle School class to watch the Netflix documentary, Stamped from the Beginning, based on the book by Ibram X. Kendi. This will be our second viewing and discussion on this topic. This week's topic will center on: Abolitionist Myth of the White Savior Janet Irons from the Racial Justice Committee will speak on the committee's work within UUFCC and State College and will help facilitate discussion after the film viewing.

What does it mean to commit a "Microaggression"? Last October, we invited Dr. Seria Chatters to give our Board, Racial Justice Committee, and RE teachers a workshop on microaggressions which was deeply insightful and spurred much discussion. Rev. Tracy and Ashley Hamlin are expanding this training and discussion to anyone in our UUFCC congregation with a second workshop based on Seria's material. After this workshop, we will invite Dr. Chatters to come again and follow up on this work. Our goal is to continue deepening our inclusive and welcoming culture at UUFCC. The UUFCC Jazz Band is open to all. Rehearsals occur on Sundays in the Sanctuary, although occasionally the band may rehearse in Room 6 due to major church events. Contact David Morris if interested.

This course, which takes a sobering introduction to societal collapse, then guides you through a supportive pathway to greater resilience and acceptance in the face of collapse, will meet through February 4 with leaders Kelle Kersten and Bob Flatley.

This will be a potluck supper -- they will bring food, as well as any of you who would like to join us. To better involve the children, there will be a Valentine Tree set up in the UU Foyer with a heart for each child, with the child''s name, age, and gift suggestion under $20. You are invited to choose a heart, get the gift, and bring it, wrapped with the tag attached when you come to the party, along with a dish to share. Your children are especially invited. Come to the Valentine's Dance with live music by the UUFCC Jazz Band. 16-piece band plays Swing, Rock, Latin, Funk - Very Danceable! All ages welcome. Bring your friends, your family, and your dancing shoes! Admission is FREE with a donation of nonperishable food or cash to the Food Bank. Light refreshments will be provided.
