Multigenerational Sunday Service – “We Face the World”
Join us for MLK Sunday as we experience an hour of fierce love and hope with folk singer, Crys Matthews, whose original music strives to bring equity and justice to shape this world. We are excited to hear her message and, along with her, lift up the voices of the oppressed who still suffer since the Civil Rights Movement. About Crys Matthews: A troubadour of truth, Nashville resident Crys Matthews is among the brightest stars of the new generation of social justice music-makers. An award-winning, prolific lyricist and composer, Matthews blends Country, Americana, Folk, Blues, and Bluegrass into a bold, complex [...]
RE: Pre-K & K
Each week our kids gather to explore our world in light of our UU values. Pre-K/K friends will engage in guided exploration of various topics with their wonderful teachers, Sue Smith and Rocky Landers, downstairs in Room D.
Common Read: On Tyranny
First published in 2017, Snyder’s brief but powerful book outlines 20 clear lessons on resisting authoritarianism—lessons drawn from a century of European history and sharply relevant today. Join us as we explore how insights from the past can help us protect democracy in the present. Only 127 pages, On Tyranny is packed with big ideas to generate discussion and for us to fill in the blanks - a guide for turning the tide against America’s movement toward authoritarianism. More Information? Contact Leslie Brown or Peg Dobrinska, Contact Ashley Hamlin if you need childcare. Books can be purchased online or at Squirrel [...]

Soulful Sundown – “Staying Power”
...with Caroline Pierce. By this time in January, many people have lost enthusiasm for their new year's resolutions. Tonight we make winter the “season for staying with it.” Soulful Sundown contemplative services are held biweekly on Wednesdays from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Zoom. Each gathering considers a topic offered by that evening’s presenter, who also suggests one or two related questions for silent reflection or meditation. After the quiet, all who wish are invited to share their experiences and insights. Topics vary.
